Adriana Marais is a non-fiction writer, as well as an acclaimed scientist and explorer.

Dr Adriana Marais is an award-winning theoretical physicist and internationally-renowned advocate for off-world exploration. Her awards include L’Oreal-UNESCO’s Women in Science International Rising Talent Award in 2015. In 2020, she was one of five global finalists for Women in Tech’s Most Disruptive Woman in Tech Award.  
Adriana’s popular science writing has been published by HuffPost and Nature. She has given talks internationally, including at TEDx events. She also sits on the South African government’s Ministerial Task Team on the 4th Industrial Revolution.
