Ashleigh Heyns is an author, illustrator and lover of children’s books and spends far more time reading these than any other type of book. After trying many styles of art to create her illustrations with, Ashleigh decided paper collage was the medium for her, which, although is the messiest and most demanding of the styles is definitely the most fun! Ashleigh spent twenty years teaching kindergarten and says that it was through teaching that she learned the most. Ashleigh left teaching so she could spend more time creating stories and pictures. Ashleigh grew up ‘all over the place’ and lived in some of South Africa’s most beautiful places including a city, a town, a farm and even a forest. Ashleigh now lives in Marondera, a small town in Zimbabwe with her family, four cats and two dogs.
