Emma Olsen & Vere Tindale

Emma Olsen & Vere Tindale are screenwriters who specialise in nuanced, atmospheric and scary as hell horror.


Emma Olsen is a New Zealander of Fijian Indian, Italian, and Norwegian descent. Emma is an award winning stand up comedian. She began performing comedy at the age of 18 and won her first comedy award at 19. Emma won the NZ National Raw Comedy Award at 20 and won Best Newcomer at the Wellington Comedy Awards. Emma’s national comedy tour with the all female comedy troupe The Commediettes travelled widely and garnered critical acclaim from publications including TVNZ and Theatre review.

In 2014 Emma Produced The Peninsula, a documentary that recalls the exceptional journey through North Korea by famed entrepreneur Gareth Morgan and his wife Joanne Morgan. The Peninsula screened at film festivals around the world. Emma has also worked as an actress, production manager, stage manager, copywriter, and script reader. Emma has also worked as a commissioned screenwriter and has script doctored and worked on several scripts for South African Production Company West Five Films.

Vere Tindale is a New Zealander/South African. Vere worked as a stand up comedian and actor in NZ and wrote and performed original plays in small theatres between his studies at Victoria University of Wellington. Next, Vere studied at the The Neighbourhood Playhouse in New York City. 

An award-winning actor, Vere has performed in the Sony Pictures Miniseries Saints & Strangers (2015);  in the ITVminiseries Tutankhamun (2016) with Max Irons and Sam Neill; he played the lead role of Jacob in the South African feature film Sonskyn Beperk (2016) and played Bob Ashton in Bron Studios The Red Sea Diving Resort (2017), acting alongside Chris Evans, Michael K Williams and Sir Ben Kingsley. When not working as an Actor, Vere works as a commissioned screenwriter for South African production company West Five films, writing several scripts and a television pilot.
